“It’s fine. I’ve been having a good time, anyway.” Elena walked along behind him, laughing slightly. As Finn dragged her along, the brunette tangled her fingers in his with a sigh. Even if they couldn’t be in a relationship, what was to say they couldn’t be close? It wasn’t like she was going to do anything else stupid, not while she was trying to fix herself.
“Having a good time in my company isn’t something new.” Finn grinned and eventually reached the door and pushed it open, holding it ajar so that Elena could walk out first. He wasn’t quite sure what she had been thinking at all and for the sake of making matters worse, was rather relieved. Who knew what she was thinking in there. “Next time, I’m getting out of here. I’ve been stuck in this house for days.”

Taking Finn’s hand, Elena smiled softly. “Maybe I will. After all, I enjoy your company.” The brunette kept the smile on her face, though it never quite reached her eyes. She cared for Finn, but didn’t want to know what else she felt, feeling the need to wait a while longer before ever attempting to be with him. “Are you done dancing?” She asked, laughing softly.
“Well, I enjoy yours too.” Finn smiled but turned around towards the direction of the door again, pulling against her arm lightly to lead her out of the ball room. “I think so. I apologise, this was your romantic little disaster after all, wasn’t it?” His eyes narrowed, looking ahead towards where he was walking. The fact he needed to keep everything bottled up even though he allowed those feelings to reach his unbeating heart began to effect him.

“I’m always thinking something, Finn. That doesn’t always mean we’re thinking the same thing.” Elena joked, smiling slightly. She liked Finn, a lot. But if there was one thing she wasn’t going to do, it was rush into a relationship with another vampire that had originally fallen in love with Katerina. After all, she never knew what the reasoning was for them liking her. “We have become very normal together. I like it.”
Finn was a little disappointed at her reaction regardless of the tone she had used which was definitely not serious. He relaxed his arms and let them drop down towards his side, offering her a convincing smile as false as it may have been. “Yeah, it’s something I don’t bother to feel that much.” Shrugging his shoulders, he turned to look towards the door by the side of the room that they had entered. “Are you sure you wouldn’t like to stay over?”
